The Faculty is involved in solving the project Diversification of the Impact of the Bioeconomy on Strategic Documents of the Forestry-Wood Sector as a Basis for State Administration and the Design of Strategic Goals by 2030 supported by The Ministry of Agriculture. The main objective of this project is to assess the wider strategic context of forest bio-economics and to formulate strategic objectives and recommendations in the conditions of the Czech Republic. The proposed strategic objectives and recommendations of the strategy will be based primarily on the results of scientific research and on the views, recommendations, and experiences within the European Union and the Czech Republic. Given the time frame of current strategies (such as the Czech Republic 2030), these targets will be formulated by 2030.

GRANTS:
Our scientists have achieved considerable success with respect to both national and international grant programs. One of the most important international grants is project H2020 POWER4BIO: emPOWERing regional stakeholders for realising the full potential of European BIOeconomy. The POWER4BIO project aims at increasing the capacity of regional and local policy makers and stakeholders to structure their bioeconomy and to support the emergence of a thriving bio‐based sector. Adequate knowledge and best practice exchange and networking within and among regions, across the EU. The Faculty of Economics continues in project Interreg SIP-SME (Service Innovations Prozess für Klein-und Mittelunternehmen). The cross-border Czech-Austrian project aims to propose a tool, useful as methodological support for the continuous management of innovation processes in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) on both sides of the border. The Faculty of Economics of the University of South Bohemia, together with the Fachhochschule Oberösterreich Forschungs & Entwicklungs GmbH, are responsible for the supporting documentation and for the creation of a tool for promoting innovation processes in the SMEs.
The year 2019 was successful for our scientists in the national grant field too. The Faculty of Economics acquired four projects supported by Technology Agency of the Czech Republic. The main focus is on applied research in which economic problems in practice are solved in co-operation with significant regional companies and institutions using modern economic and mathematical methods and models.

The Faculty of Economics started with solving two new international projects. The project Environmental Citizenships: Visions of Future and Their Acceptance Among Students is supported by The European Cooperation in Science and Technology. The main aim and objective of the program are to enable scientific developments in the field of Environmental Citizenship leading to new conceptualizations and new products and thereby contributing to strengthening European research and innovation capacities in the field. The POWER4BIO project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program under grant agreement No. 818351. New 2,5 year H2020 international project started in October 2018. The Czech part of the project was focused on research and promotion of bioeconomy in the South Bohemia Region.
The Faculty of Economics acquired the project Exchange rate prevention system supported by the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic. The result of applied research of the TAČR project is currently heading for the realization in the pilot version. It is available at var.ef.jcu.cz. It is an application that helps the user to estimate a possible exchange rate loss on his/her claim or debt. Starting in March 2020, this application is going to be available in full version on the portal businessinfo.cz, which will ensure the access of a professional public to the results of applied research of the Faculty of Economics. Whereas researchers in the Czech Republic and abroad do not know a similar freely available application, this applied research has a prospective economic impact on society, especially in today's turbulent times (Brexit, US / China / EU trade wars).
